About
Bold Current Review looks at the choices embedded in the designed world: the handle that signals how a door opens, the screen that makes one option stand out, the sign that needs to be read at a glance. We explain design without assuming specialist knowledge.
What we cover
Our subjects include objects, interfaces, graphics and spaces, along with the methods and histories that help explain them. We focus on details readers can encounter in ordinary settings and on the reasoning behind a form, layout or interaction.
Who it is for
The publication is for curious general readers, students and people who make or choose things in the course of their work. No design vocabulary is required. When a specialist term helps, we explain it in context rather than treating it as a password.
How we look
We pay attention to function as well as appearance: what a design asks of someone, what it makes easy to notice and where its choices may create friction. We distinguish observation from interpretation and avoid pretending that one solution suits every person or setting.
Design is a choice you can learn to see.
We look past surface style to ask what a design invites, clarifies or makes harder. Small details often explain the whole.
